Range of products

A set of products or services that a given enterprise has to offer. This slogan is also known as product portfolio.

The assortment of products is all types and grades of goods offered by the manufacturer, which can be divided according to assortment groups as to the number of quality goods, assortment groups as to the nature of the need and customer interest.

The first of them - in terms of the number of species - can be divided into the range of species, simple, complex and mixed. As for the nature of the need, assortment groups can be grouped into elements such as real, forecast and training assortment. The last set of the nature of the need is divided into a rational and optimal assortment.

We can also distinguish features of the product range such as width, length, consistency and depth. The first one tells about the number of product lines that the company offers, while the length of the assortment covers all the goods that the company offers in its range. The consistency of the assortment determines how closely the specific product lines that the brand has to offer are related to each other, and the depth is in turn the number of specific products offered by the company within its product lines.

We can also divide the range by size, which has three options for classifying goods:

• wide - 1-100 000 product types
• limited - <1000 types of products
• narrow <200 product types.
