Instagram Reels appeared in Poland quite recently. It is not an ideal tool yet, but it has great potential, especially for business. Why is it worth it? How can I create Reels to gain audiences? We will answer these and other questions in this article. Here is your compendium of knowledge about Instagram Reels.
Instagram Reels - what exactly are they?
Instagram Reels, in Poland the so-called Rolls, are short forms of video (from 3 to 60 seconds) that can be recorded and edited in the Instagram application. Reels have their own tab where we can see them. By swiping up, more clips from different users from around the world are displayed. First Reels launched on August 5, 2020, in 50 countries around the world. In Poland, they were launched relatively recently, on October 27, 2021, to be exact.
Instagram Reels was created on a pattern of another, very popular application - TikTok, and it immediately became its direct competition. Voices whether Instagram Reels can threaten TikTok or not are divided. However, we know one thing for sure - Instagram has focused mainly on them since the start and pushes them so that they do not escape the attention of any recipient.
Where can I find Reels on Instagram?
Reels can be accessed from the main bar, which appears in each tab at the very bottom. Reels’ icon is in the center. After clicking it, we will find ourselves in the Reels catalog, where we can watch other users' videos as well as like, comment and share them. To start creating your own video, we need to press the camera icon on the top right of the screen. Now you just need to let your imagination run wild and record your first Reels.

The Reels creation panel can also be accessed from the main page of the application by clicking the plus sign in the top menu bar, as if we wanted to add a regular post or Stories, and select the "Reels" option.

We can share Reels we have created as a post on the profile or in the Stories. Reels also have a special tab on the user's profile, thanks to which all published films can be easily found in one place. A very important novelty on Instagram is the possibility of co-authoring posts. The so-called "Collabs" allows us to mark another user as a contributor for a post. The post or Reels will then also be available on their profile.

How to create Reels to get as many recipients as possible?
Reels subject
Reels should be interesting and engaging. Too seriousness, stiffness or an official tone are not indicated here. It is better to be at ease and with a little of humor. With Reels, you can shorten the distance with your audience and present your business in a friendlier, more accessible way. It is worth showing the workplace, employees, intriguing products and patents in the recordings. All this will mean that your brand will no longer be anonymous and will get closer to its customers, who will be more willing to enter and follow its profile.

Recording method of Reels
Reels are not traditional product demonstration videos. You need to show more creativity in them to stand out among others because the possibility of advanced editing is limited here. Reels can be recorded directly through the Instagram application, or we can upload previously prepared recording to the Reels’ editor. Video quality is not the most important thing here. Captivating, unconventional transitions are much more appreciated. However, aesthetics still play a very significant role, as people we prefer to simply look at things that are beautiful. So take care of proper framing, remove unnecessary objects from the background, create a beautiful and aesthetic arrangement that you can show off to others.

Music on Instagram
Music plays a very essential role in creating Reels. It must be properly selected for the type of video we create. We can use public sounds, shared by the application and other users, or create our own sound. Just remember that if you publish the Reels as public, other users will be able to use your audio as well. Also, be careful with copyrights. You can use the sounds in the application for free. However, if you want to add your own sound, you must have the copyright or a license to it.

Reels’ Effects and Filters
You can use Instagram filters and effects to make your Reels more attractive. In the app you can find various transitions effects that will combine two or more video clips, image effects (duplication, split screen), fun filters that we can apply to our face, various games and filters that change the color of the video.

Trends on Instagram Reels
Performing various trends that go viral definitely increases the chances that your Reels will be in the proposed ones in the "Explore" tab. It will then be displayed to any user with interests that meet our requirements. In addition, it will rock up in the Reels’ tab and will appear more often to other users that do not follow us. After all, that is what we care about.

Use of Instagram Reels in Marketing
Due to the fact that it is a new service and has a big competitor in the form of TikTok, Instagram puts a lot of emphasis on Reels and tries to promote them everywhere. It is a great opportunity to promote your business as well. How does it work?
Recorded Reels can be found in the "Explore" page right after publishing. Thanks to this, the Reels will be displayed to people who do not follow your profile, but the content meets their interests, assumed by the Instagram algorithm. This way you can easily and quickly gain new followers.

If your Reels meet the recipients’ expectations, it can show as "Featured" on the Instagram start page. Instagram Reels is a fairly recent feature, and not everyone is using it yet. This is its big advantage, because then you have a better chance that your Reels will go viral and start showing to others.

Reels are also a great opportunity for marketers who can promote a brand's posts through Instagram Reels. The displayed ads are marked as "Sponsored" and are very effective.
