Selective distribution
Distribution is a process consisting of many coordinated activities aimed at providing buyers with the products we produce.
There are 3 types of distribution:
-
intensive distribution
-
selective distribution
-
exclusive distribution
We usually talk about selective distribution in relation to products that a potential customer does not buy frequently, and they do not have to be as widely available as in the case of intensive distribution. We are talking primarily about products such as furniture, toys or exclusive clothing, which does not have to be available in every local store.
In the case of this form of distribution, the entrepreneur does not establish cooperation with many intermediaries or wholesalers. This is due to the fact that the target group of the offered goods is much narrower than in the case of intensive distribution, and additionally the point of sale where the offered product will be available is important - area, location and level of customer service. All this will have a significant impact on the perception of our brand by consumers.
