Dropshipping

Logistic model, which consists in transferring the responsibility for delivering goods to the customer, from the seller to the supplier - the manufacturer or wholesaler.

The term dropshipping describes a kind of e-commerce, which is still somewhat different from traditional e-commerce. It is a kind of logistics model that relies on the supplier to be responsible for the delivery of a specific product from the store. In this case, it is usually the manufacturer or wholesaler. The online store then acts as a kind of intermediary whose tasks are focused on acquiring new customers, completing orders carefully and transferring them to wholesalers or manufacturers. They then have to ensure that the order is correctly processed, and the ordered goods are delivered to the consumer.

The main advantage of this system is that the owner of the online store does not have to individually purchase products sold in the store or worry about the costs of their storage. Additionally, it can sell products of various types and many manufacturers at the same time. He does not need to take care of the shipment of goods to customers, and thus is able to focus more on other aspects related to running an Internet business.

Dropshipping also has disadvantages, such as no guarantee that the manufacturer will fulfill the customer's order on time. In addition, during possible non-compliance with the order, the customer does not have clear information on where to return the goods, and when he needs information about it, the owner of the online store is not always able to provide it. This is due to the fact that, after all, he often does not have specialist knowledge of the products offered within a specific industry.
